Why we need the light in more ways than one: Red light therapy

Updated: Nov 14

We need to meditate to bring the light into our life but when we are tired, in pain and ill, it can feel almost impossible to reach higher states of consciousness. Fatigue and illness can keep us from a consistent meditation practise as it effects us physically but also mentally and emotionally.

So, how can we help bring the light into our system to regenerate and restore our energy and to deepen our meditation practise?

We are beings of light and we need light to survive. In a spiritual sense light can feel like something that is only metaphysical but in actual fact it also refers to the light spectrum of creation. Most of us know we need sunshine for the body to manufacture Vitamin D as well as the impact sunlight and Vitamin D can have on our mental and emotional states. But what is not so well known is that we need all the rainbow coloured rays to penetrate our skin at different depths with their respective wavelengths for optimal energy and function.

The most important reason we need the full spectrum of light is to assist the body to produce energy (ATP) that is necessary to perform all the bodily functions optimally. We need to produce our body weight in energy (ATP) every single day to function optimally. ATP is produced by the mitochondria in our cells and these beautiful cellular organisms need light to produce enough ATP.

This rarely happens for anyone who is living on the planet at the moment. Why? Because cells undergo too much stress and the mitochondria are grievously effected by this. They are stressed because we are stressed. We are stressed because there is a lot to stress about but also because of unhealthy nutrition like too much sugar, various toxins like smoking, alcohol and pharmaceutical drugs as well as environmental toxins.

Our mitochondria cannot produce enough ATP to sustain us. Let alone heal us when there is imbalance, and this is the underlying trigger for most diseases. This includes inflammatory conditions, endocrine disorders, auto immune disease, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimers, dementia and many other diseased states. Even if we do not have major disease this can still be the underlying reason for fatigue, brain fog, aches and pains and low mood.

So how do we help our Mitochondria? With Red Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation). Exposing our bodies to all the rainbow rays and their wavelengths so it can shine on the skin and penetrate deeper to all the cells of the body. Each wavelength reaches deeper into the body so that all the different cells of the body receive the light. The muscles, tendons, ligaments, inner organs, veins, arteries, bones and brain. By doing this we are restoring our mitochondria back to their glorious ability.

"When light of the correct colour and intensity is applied to the area of stress,

the result is a return to the normal functioning of our cells"

We will sleep better, have more energy, reduce aches and pains by reducing chronic inflammation and start healing from chronic disease states. We can even better our brain wave states for better focus and wellbeing.

We are beings of light and we need the light to functional optimally. When we meditate and pray we create metaphysical light but we also need the light to penetrate our cells to energise, vitalise and heal our physical bodies. In the end is it not the same light? All light is a gift from the Universe, the effulgent light supreme as well as Red light therapy.

If you are like me and need more science to absorb the information, there are many great websites to access. Here are a few, the first one has a list of research articles and clinical trials if you want to know about the comprehensive curative effects of Photobiomodulation. There are also various devices available, from panels to specific area access devices and ones to wear on the head like Vielight.

I have a Biomax 900 red light panel at home because it has all the wavelengths of light available and it has helped me sleep better, have more vitality, heal scarring and stretch marks, lose weight, heal my thyroid imbalance, help with perimenopausal transition, fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis. Even if you can only afford to get a smaller panel or device, they work systemically so it will still help you to absorb more light.
